“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Romans 5:8

The Apostle Paul writes about the unique nature of God’s love. Someone once contrasted God’s love with human love as follows: “God’s love does not find but creates that which is pleasing to it. Human love arises from that which is pleasing to it.”

The promise of the gospel is that God’s love, through Christ Jesus, not only covers our sin and shame but also creates in us what He most desires: the beauty of His holiness.

“For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.” Romans 8:29-30
