“You have taken account of my wanderings; Put my tears in Your bottle. Are they not in Your book? Then my enemies will turn back in the day when I call; This I know, that God is for me. In God, whose word I praise, In the LORD, whose word I praise, In God I have put my trust, I shall not be afraid. What can man do to me?” Psalm 56:8-11 This Psalm of David is fulfilled in the prayers of his greater son, our King and Savior, Jesus who we know from scripture, “In the days of His flesh, He offered up both prayers and supplications with loud crying and tears to the One able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His piety.” Hebrews 5:7 As we journey through the valleys of tears in this life, we can find comfort in knowing that Jesus sympathizes with us in our sorrows. Through Psalm 56, He teaches us how to pray and cling to hope, even in the midst of our tears. |
